LONG LOTS SUMMER READING and WRITING
Long Lots is excited about summer reading and writing! Teachers will be working with students to create summer reading plans (i.e. When will your child find time to read? What types of books does your child plan to read? How will your child plan for reading over vacation or at camp?), and get students excited to read and write over the summer.

Leo was so excited to hear about summer reading that he has flattened himself into a bookmark! Take a picture of your child reading with Flat Leo this summer, and upload it onto the Google Form on the LLS website. We will use these photos as part of our summer reading celebration in the fall.

There are lots of resources on the Long Lots homepage, under the Students tab.

Look for:

  • Parent letter regarding summer reading and writing
  • Google form to upload summer reading photos
  • There is a Padlet that has many, many resources
  • Mrs. Eilertsen's summer reading lists
  • Middle School summer reading letter for our fifth graders

Take a minute to check out all of these resources!
Thanks from your Literacy Specialists, Bonnie Campbell and  Sue Bambach

A special thanks must be given to Jen Perkel, Athena Sehr, and Danielle Liebenstein for heading up the project.  Their dedication, creativity, organization, and vision will be seen throughout the pages.  Jen, Athena, and Danielle, THANK YOU for giving us this special record of such a unique and crazy year.

CALLING ALL BOOKS!
Last March an enormous number of books were sent home with students at the beginning of the Covid shutdown.  Some of these books have been returned to school, but we are still missing many of them.  Please check your homes for ANY BOOKS with a barcode sticker on the cover, and return them to school as soon as possible.  We really appreciate your efforts to return these materials.  This will enable teachers to use these materials with other students in the future.

Thank you so much!!
