TEACHER GRANTS AND RESOURCES

The Lion’s Share Program is a grant program funded by the Long Lots PTA that enables LLS teachers and administrators to implement new ways to enhance understanding, facilitate retention, enrich the curriculum, and bring new ideas into the school.  The funds are to be for non-existing projects that the current school budget cannot support and that will benefit the school as a whole.

Past projects have included microscopes, interactive puppets for the language department, SPED grants, books on diversity for the library, Singapore Math counting aids and manipulatives, ukuleles, school-wide composting in the lunchroom, and additions to classroom libraries.  It is important to note that all grants are encouraged and considered regardless of how small.

Teachers should receive an application via their Westportps email in the fall.  The Grants Committee will review and vote on each application.  Priority will be given to those grants that have the greatest student reach. Applicants will be notified of grant approval in late November/early December.
