HAPPENING AT LLS…
Yearbook Sales are open! Order now before the price increases from $35 to $45 on February 20th. To order, go to Coffeepond.com, click Order Yearbooks, and enter the case-sensitive password: LLS2021
Due to COVID-related constraints, all yearbooks will be hardcover and orders must be placed by the end of February. The Long Lots yearbook is so special and the children love receiving them in their classrooms at the end of every school year, so please make it a priority to order early this year as there likely will not be extra copies available at the end of the year like we've had in the past.
We want to give every K-5 student an opportunity to own a yearbook. Please contact Mrs. Ambrosio if you are in need of financial assistance. All requests are confidential.
You can also check if you've ordered a yearbook already in the "Forgot if you've ordered" section of the website.
DROP IN VIRTUAL CHAT WITH MRS. AMBROSIO
The January monthly chat will be a virtual meeting this Tuesday, January 11th at 9:30am. Please feel free to drop in to the meeting using the following Google Meet link: meet.google.com/rfx-buvf-yxh
BRIDGEPORT ISLANDERS HOCKEY GAME

THANK YOU FROM OUR LION’S HEART COMMITTEE
WOW! Long Lots really stepped it up this holiday season and donated over $13,000 in money and gift cards for the Westport Department of Human Services and the Family and Children's Agency. Amazing Long Lots! Thank you!
YEARBOOK SUBMISSION OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS
Calling all artists! We would love to feature artwork made by the students in the yearbook this year. The art should express how students feel about this school year or art that reflects their school year experience. Please submit a high resolution photo of the art with the student's name, grade, and a caption or title to email@example.com by January 14th.
Tell us (and show us) what you love about Long Lots! Send us an email by January 14th to firstname.lastname@example.org with what your student loves about Long Lots (please keep it to one sentence), with a photo of the student that goes along with it. Please include the student's name and grade. Sibling or friend photos are welcome as long as everyone in the photo is an LLS student.
Thank you in advance for your participation!
IT’s 2022! GOOD REASON AS ANY TO JOIN THE PTA!
Why should you join the PTA? Because the PTA enriches the educational experience of every child and teacher at LLS with programs like our Cultural Arts programs, programming for our new LLS families, much needed support for our amazing teachers and staff and much, much more! ROARRRING ACCOLADES go out to…
…all our Teachers and Staff who worked so hard this past week to make the transition back to school in such a time of uncertainty seamless for our students. Kids noticed some changes but didn’t skip a beat because we have the leadership and role models of our teachers and staff!
NOTE FROM THE NURSES OFFICE
If your child has received two doses of the covid-19 vaccination, you may send an image of their vaccination card to Christina Wood at email@example.com. This is optional; parents are not required to submit proof of their child's covid vaccination.
We are excited to announce that we have formed “SUSTAINABLE LONG LOTS" in partnership with Sustainable Westport, a non-profit organization in our town whose mission is to become a Net Zero community by the year 2050 or sooner. Our main initiative this year will be to embark on a Zero Waste Initiative, beginning with composting at lunch, which began at LLS in early December. Ask your child about how to compost in the cafeteria! We really hope you will join us in getting this initiative off the ground. If you are interested in joining Sustainable LLS, please reach out to Amy Cook (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Volunteers do an excellent job checking-in in the Main Office - but after you are done please make sure you check back out with Mr. Terry or one of the office staff. Please read HERE for the PTA policy on vaccinated volunteers.

SCHOOL BUS GUEST RIDER REMINDER FROM MR. SCARICE
"Given the recent condensing of bus routes, we cannot guarantee that “guest riders” (i.e. students traveling on another bus not assigned to them) will have a seat on another bus when riding to a friend’s house or other location. For this reason, and for the interim, we will not be able to accommodate these requests until a full stable of buses and bus drivers have been reestablished."
